What is the difference between EVA film and EVA hot-melt sticks/pellets?
While both use the same base resin, EVA film provides a uniform, continuous layer of adhesive. This ensures consistent thickness, prevents glue spillage, and is specifically designed for large-area flat lamination (like wall coverings or nonwovens), whereas sticks/pellets are for point or line dispensing.
Is EVA adhesive film water-resistant? Can it be used outdoors?
Standard EVA film offers moderate water resistance but is not completely waterproof. It is generally recommended for indoor applications. However, if outdoor use is required, we can formulate custom grades with UV resistance and improved weatherability. For extreme outdoor conditions, consider our TPU or PES films.
Can it bond to Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE) surfaces? Do they need treatment?
EVA has a natural affinity for PE, making it excellent for bonding polyethylene materials without surface treatment. Bonding to PP is possible but may yield lower peel strength compared to PE. For optimal results on PP, Corona treatment of the substrate or using a specifically modified PO (Polyolefin) film might be recommended.
Is EVA film suitable for automotive interiors? What about VOCs?
While EVA is generally safe and low-VOC, its relatively low melting point means it may soften in hot car interiors (which can exceed 80°C in summer). For automotive interiors, we typically recommend our high-temperature resistant PA (Polyamide) or PES hot melt films to ensure strict compliance with auto industry VOC and thermal stability standards.
Do you offer custom colors and thicknesses? What is the MOQ?
Yes, we provide highly customizable thickness and width options. Standard colors are transparent and translucent white, but we can manufacture custom colors (like black for light-blocking applications). Our Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) is very accommodating, starting at just 200 square meters for standard formulations.
