Elasticity & Flexibility
TPU film grades can be considered for flexible and stretchable laminates. Final stretch and recovery performance should be tested using the actual fabric assembly.
VOMELT supplies TPU hot melt adhesive films for textile lamination, seamless garment construction and flexible material bonding. Six in-stock grades are available for different melting points, film thicknesses, widths and recommended pressing temperatures.
For grade selection, please provide both substrate materials, your lamination equipment and the intended end use.
TPU Adhesive Film
Continuous bonding layer
TPU hot melt adhesive film is a thermoplastic polyurethane adhesive supplied as a preformed film. It is activated through heat and pressure to bond suitable substrate materials.
It can be evaluated for textile-to-textile lamination, flexible fabric assemblies, seamless apparel components, garment reinforcement and selected footwear constructions. The suitable grade depends on both bonding surfaces, their finishes, the processing equipment and the finished product requirements.
Unlike an open fibrous adhesive web, TPU adhesive film provides a more continuous adhesive layer. This distinction is important when selecting an adhesive for coverage, softness, flexibility and laminate construction.
Evaluate TPU film grade, substrate compatibility and bonding conditions to achieve the required laminate performance.
TPU film grades can be considered for flexible and stretchable laminates. Final stretch and recovery performance should be tested using the actual fabric assembly.
TPU film can be evaluated for washable textile products. Required wash cycles, temperatures and bond retention must be verified for each laminate.
Transparent film constructions are available. The finished appearance depends on adhesive thickness, substrate color, fabric texture and processing conditions.
OEKO-TEX certification documentation is available for review. Buyers should confirm the certificate scope, validity and applicability to the requested film grade.
Different grades can be evaluated for nylon, polyester, spandex blends and other textile constructions. Surface finishes and the second substrate strongly influence bonding results.

Processing note: Recommended pressing temperatures are grade-specific references, not guaranteed settings for every laminate. Actual pressure and dwell time should be determined through trials using the customer's materials and equipment. Bond strength, stretch recovery and end-use durability should be evaluated separately.
Actual adhesion must be checked with the finished fabric and the second bonding substrate.
Nylon Fabrics: Textile lamination, flexible apparel components and garment construction.
Polyester Fabrics: Functional textiles, apparel reinforcement and fabric-to-fabric bonding.
Spandex Blends: Applications where flexibility and movement are important.
Other Textiles: Knitted, woven and composite materials subject to compatibility testing.
Highly Water-Repellent Finishes: Surface treatments may reduce adhesion. Verify the bonding surface before selecting a grade.
Silicone-Containing Finishes: Surface contamination or silicone treatments may interfere with bonding.
Thick or Stiff Fabrics: Evaluate film thickness, softness, stiffness and final laminate flexibility.
Special Coated Fabrics: Request compatibility testing rather than assuming the same grade works for every coating.
The recommended pressing temperature depends on the film grade. Pressure, dwell time and cooling conditions should be validated for the laminate.
