Core Principles of Transparency
The clarity of hot melt adhesives is determined by polymer crystallinity, raw material purity, filler content, anti-UV formulation, and melt rheology.
Industry-Specific Definitions
- • Light transmittance: Proportion of visible light penetrating the adhesive layer. Higher = more transparent.
- • Haze: Proportion of scattered light. Lower = clearer, less hazy.
- • Yellowing resistance: Resistance to UV and high-temperature oxidation. Higher level = stronger stability.
Appearance Grades
- 1. High Clear Grade: Crystal clear, no haze. Leaves no adhesive marks.
- 2. Semi-Transparent Micro-Haze: Slightly milky, moderate transparency. Versatile balance.
- 3. Matte / Frosted Grade: Low transmission, premium matte effect. Conceals fine lines.

Technical Analysis
Matte Texture Technology Gloss Testing Standards & Custom Solutions
Our exclusive gloss evaluation system for hot-melt adhesive film matte products. Measured using a 60° gloss meter, the micro-structures on the matte finish cause diffuse reflection rather than specular reflection, delivering premium aesthetics and performance.
Ultra-Matte Grade
Maximum light absorption for a profound, non-reflective finish.
Light-Matte Grade
Balanced diffuse reflection for a subtle, elegant sheen.
Batch Consistency
Strict gloss fluctuation tolerance controlled within ±5 GU to guarantee flawless bulk production.
Exclusive Effects of Micro-Structure Diffuse Reflection
Anti-Glare & Matting
Reduces surface specular reflection by over 80%. Eliminates cheap, shiny appearances, ensuring the surface is non-dazzling even under direct illumination.
Visual Scratch Hiding
Fine scratches are visually weakened by diffuse reflection. The scratch misjudgment rate is reduced by >70% compared to glossy materials.
Defect Concealment
The frosted texture effectively covers substrate flaws like fine lines, machining marks, and color discrepancies, boosting the yield rate by 15%~25%.
Soft & Supple Touch
Zero-filler matte TPE inherently offers a warm, skin-friendly touch. The material remains soft and comfortable, neither cold nor rigid after lamination.
Premium Composition Guarantee
Formulated with raw pure TPE particles and exclusive matting agents Silica White Carbon Black SEBS Masterbatch. We completely eliminate cheap powder fillers that cause later-stage whitening and brittleness, ensuring long-lasting material integrity.
Precision Customization & Superior Control
Specific matting effects and surface textures can be meticulously customized by adjusting the raw material formula, transfer matte roller processes, and casting parameters.

Custom Processing Appearance Solutions
We support customized appearance processing, matching dedicated adhesives and processes to eliminate whitening, hazing, and yellowing.
Material Processing (OEM)
Precisely match high-clear / semi-transparent / matte adhesives based on fabric base color. Optimize lamination process to protect original appearance, eliminating adhesive marks.
Lamination / Adhesive Backing
Uniform control of whole-width transparency, avoiding localized whitening or uneven bright spots. Achieve consistent appearance suitable for high-end full-roll fabric production.
Dot Coating OEM
Customize high-transparency dot structure. Fine, invisible adhesive dots preserve fabric's transparent quality and breathability. Solve the heavy, hazy appearance.
Causes of Poor Transparency & Solutions
Most post-lamination problems of whitening, hazing, and heavy fog are not material defects but appearance failures caused by improper process parameters.
Molecular-Level Analysis of "Whitening"
The milky white hazy appearance when insufficiently melted is a physical failure of polymer flow and optical scattering.
- Semi-crystalline polymers (EVA, PES, PA): If melting threshold is not reached, micro-interfaces form between crystalline and amorphous zones. Light undergoes Mie scattering, appearing as milky white haze.
- Amorphous polymers (TPU): When fully melted, chains are uniform (transmittance ≥92%, haze ≤3%). If insufficiently melted, entangled chains form irregular interfaces that scatter light.
Empirical formula: Required melting temp = material melting point + (8°C–20°C) margin. A deficiency of just 1–2°C can drop transmittance by 20–30%.
Process Correction Solutions
| Appearance Defect | Correction Plan |
|---|---|
| Overall whitening/hazing | Increase to standard melting range, ensure complete melting. |
| Localized adhesive marks | Uniform roller pressure, fine-tune speed. |
| Slight yellowing | Strictly control upper temp limit; use precision lamination. |
| Obvious web grid marks | Match correct melting temp, allow dots to finely embed. |
| Fabric becomes dull | Replace with TPU high-clear film/web. |
